What requirements must a self-employed person fulfil?
If you already work as a self-employed person, we need an extract of your Chamber of Commerce registration with VAT number, plus liability insurance. Are you not yet self-employed? First register with the Chamber of Commerce as a self-employed person.
We further assume that you are in possession of a VCA VOL Certificate. If you do not have this yet, it is important that you obtain it quickly.
Are you not from the Netherlands, but from another country within the EU? Then we need an A1 declaration for working in the Netherlands.

Do I build up a pension as a self-employed person?
A self-employed person is responsible for pension accrual. You can join a collective pension scheme for the self-employed, reserve part of your profit for your fiscal old age reserve (FOR) or opt for an annuity with an insurer, bank or investment institution. You can also join our pension provider.
